Mindful Work: Managing Stress & Emotional Awareness at Work
Course Walkthrough (Articulate Storyline)
Recorded walkthrough highlighting scenario design, branching logic, and interaction choices
Project Summary
Through realistic scenarios and guided reflection, learners practice identifying emotional triggers, evaluating response options, and applying simple mindfulness strategies directly within the flow of work. The experience emphasizes decision-making under pressure, self-regulation, and psychological safety, supporting both individual well-being and effective workplace behavior.

Purpose & Context
Workplace stress and emotional overload can negatively impact performance, communication, and decision-making, particularly in fast-paced or people-facing roles. This module was designed as a just-in-time professional development resource that supports employees in recognizing stress responses and making intentional, regulated choices in the moment.
The course is designed to be:
Short and approachable
Emotionally supportive without being clinical
Practical and immediately applicable
Design Approach
Scenario-based learning to simulate realistic workplace stress moments
Branching decision paths allowing learners to explore consequences safely
Reflective pauses to encourage self-awareness and emotional labeling
Minimal cognitive load through focused screens and clear visual hierarchy
Learner agency by allowing choice without “right/wrong” shaming
Key Design Decisions
Articulate Storyline was selected to support branching logic, variable-based state changes, and layered feedback not achievable in Rise
Subtle animations and transitions were used intentionally to guide attention and support emotional pacing
Neutral, inclusive visual design was chosen to avoid emotional overload and maintain psychological safety
Feedback framed as coaching reinforced reflection and choice-making rather than correctness
Impact & Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to design emotionally intelligent learning experiences that go beyond content delivery and focus on behavior change. It reinforced the importance of pairing interactivity with empathy—especially when addressing topics like stress, mental health, and self-regulation.
Designing this module in Storyline deepened my skills in branching logic, scenario pacing, and feedback design, and expanded my toolkit for building engaging internal learning experiences.
